Here’s why iPhone users in the United Kingdom shouldn’t say ‘108’ to Siri
A new prank has surfaced on the internet recently, daring iPhone users in the United Kingdom to close their eyes for five seconds and simultaneously say ‘108’ to Siri, and while the challenge doesn’t seem to risky at first it could in fact land you in a whole lot of trouble… Here’s why.
Saying ‘108’ will put you through to the emergency services in the UK because 108 is the equivalent of 999 in India. – By asking unsuspecting victims to close their eyes for five seconds means that they don’t cotton on to the fact they’ve been tricked into calling the UK’s emergency services until it’s too late and an operator is on the line.
‘108’ isn’t the only number which triggers the UK’s emergency services, 112, 110, 000 and the US number 911 all dial through. ? So don’t be fooled, share this with your friends and if you do happen to try the ‘108’ trick, be careful as the police are already hot on the tale of users who abuse the service.
