Apple adding Visual Intelligence to iPhone 15 Pro in future update

Apple has announced that its Visual Intelligence feature, originally introduced with the iPhone 16 series in iOS 18.2, will be coming to the iPhone 15 Pro in a future software update. The company confirmed to Daring Fireball that the feature will roll out in an upcoming release, bringing AI-powered recognition to more users.
With Visual Intelligence, users can identify objects, landmarks, plants, animals, and even extract text for translation or quick actions. For example, pointing the camera at a sign in another language will instantly translate the text, while scanning a document can extract phone numbers, emails, or dates for easy interaction.
The feature also integrates with Apple apps to enhance real-world interactions. Users can pull up restaurant details in Maps by pointing their iPhone at a location, add events from posters to their calendar, or even identify dog breeds just by aiming the camera.
