Apple unveils new 11th-Gen iPad with A16 chip and double the starting storage

Apple has unveiled its 11th-generation iPad, featuring double the starting storage and powered by the A16 Bionic chip.
Announced alongside the new M3 iPad Air on Tuesday, the updated iPad is nearly 30% faster than the previous generation. According to Apple, users upgrading from an iPad with the A13 Bionic chip will experience up to a 50% increase in overall performance, making the new iPad up to six times faster than the best-selling Android tablet.
The 11th-generation iPad retains the familiar design of its predecessor, with the A16 chip being the key internal upgrade. This chip, first introduced in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, later appeared in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, bringing enhanced speed and efficiency to Apple’s entry-level tablet.
Storage options now start at 128GB, with additional configurations of 256GB and a new 512GB option. The iPad is available in blue, pink, yellow, and silver finishes. Pricing begins at $349 (U.S.) for Wi-Fi models and $499 (U.S.) for Wi-Fi + Cellular models.
