Instagram finally developing iPad app, report suggests

Instagram is reportedly developing a long-awaited iPad version of its app, according to a source cited by The Information.
Instagram’s head, Adam Mosseri, has previously explained that the company’s relatively small team has chosen to prioritize features and platforms that impact the largest number of users. From Instagram’s internal perspective, the demand for an iPad-specific app hasn’t been high enough to justify diverting resources. Since the iPhone version technically works on iPads, the company hasn’t viewed the lack of a native app as an issue.
Despite this, many users—especially content creators, photographers, and digital artists who use iPads as creative tools—have continued to voice frustration. A native iPad app would likely feature a redesigned interface tailored to the larger screen, offering a smoother and more immersive experience.
